The Location

CBC Beer HallLocated at 200 Kelton Avenue, the Beer Hall originally housed a mechanic shop to repair the trolleys that ran through Broad Street and Columbus back in the late 19th century. The Beer Hall now serves as CBC’s most expansive location, with multiple bars and dining areas, 24 tap handles, as well as a state-of-the-art kitchen serving a wide range of globally inspired foods.


The work

The AKM is responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations while ensuring company standards and values are upheld. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and attention to detail to maintain efficient kitchen workflows. The AKM must positively represent the company while maintaining fairness and consistency in managing staff and operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES INCLUDE:

• Plan and facilitate thorough shift meetings daily.
• Ensure staffing and kitchen setup before opening.
• Act as the central communication hub between all BOH positions.
• Address teammate concerns and escalate issues to the Kitchen Manager as needed.
• Assign tasks and monitor performance of line cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers.
• Inspect kitchen stations, checklists, and line counts before staff leave their shifts.
• Assign line stations and plan shift execution, with or without the Kitchen Manager.
• Actively participate in the inventory process.
• Train, supervise, and develop new staff to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
• Address employee complaints and disciplinary matters, reporting all issues to the Kitchen Manager.
• Maintain consistent, efficient service during peak hours.
• Step in to fill any kitchen position as needed, including during staff shortages.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.


The PAY

This salaried position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $50,000 to $55,000, based on experience and qualifications.

  • Minimum of 2 years in a kitchen leadership role.
  • Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage staff, resolve issues, and ensure smooth operations.
  • Flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and efficiency.
