The Location
CBC Brewery – Founded in 1988, Columbus Brewing Company is one of the longest-running breweries in Ohio and the oldest brewery in Central Ohio. Our brewery is situated just outside of downtown at 2555 Harrison Road and it’s where we create our innovative and high-quality beers.
The Work
The Director of Wholesale Management will lead the strategic and operational management of all distributor partnerships to drive volume growth, forecasting accuracy, and profitability for our portfolio. This role is responsible for aligning internal goals with distributor execution, ensuring accurate forecasting, identifying growth opportunities, and delivering case count and margin targets. Key responsibilities include:
- Distributor Strategy & Partnership
- Own relationships with key distributor partners across Ohio
- Lead annual planning meetings and quarterly business reviews (QBRs)
- Align distributor goals with internal sales targets and brand priorities
- Hold distributors accountable to execution metrics (e.g., distribution, display, depletion targets)
- Forecasting & Planning
- Lead monthly and annual volume forecasting in collaboration with brewery and supply chain
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, order cadence, and production alignment
- Recommend and implement solutions to ensure sales match inventory depletions
- Use VIP and NIQ data to predict trends, prevent out-of-stocks, and support production planning
- Sales Execution & Performance
- Collaborate with chain manager and distributor regional directors and reps to ensure retailer execution
- Track progress toward case count and revenue goals across all wholesale channels
- Develop and optimize programs that drive depletions and pull-through
- Manage team through CRM and performance tracking to key performance indicators
- Leadership & Cross-Functional Alignment
- Manage a team and dotted-line responsibility for distributor managers
- Coordinate with marketing, operations, and finance to support pricing and programming
- Create dashboards and KPIs to measure performance against goals
- Manage weekly and monthly targets to maintain sales volume
The Requirements
- 5+ years in sales within packaged goods space, with at least 3 years managing distributor relationships
- Deep understanding of wholesaler operations, and pricing strategy
- Proven success in forecasting and sales planning
- VIP, Nielsen/NIQ, Karma or similar systems proficiency
- Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
